Hello @Richard_Scope That's a good question to playing Summer sounds all those songs of the sixties' and seventies we all grew up with. Those who were around then..
Sunny Afternoon The Kinks to Do it again by the Beach Boys to In the Summertime by Mungo Jerry.
Even good old Eddie Cochran Summertime blues and Jerry Keller timeless stuff Here comes summer.
Always play my favourite Motown and Northern Soul stuff that helps any sunny days.
Favourite tracks at the moment well most days actually. Love, Love, Love, by Bobby Hebb who incidentally did Sunny another sixties soul classic.
Seven Days Too long by Chuck Wood. Dance, Dance, Dance by The Casualeers. Do my ironing to them all the time and housework.
Others great ones to listen to Right Track by Billy Butler. Who was Jerry Butlers brother in case you were wondering. Two can have a Party by Tammi Terrell. Was a duet with Marvin Gaye as well. Two tracks were cut. The one with Miss Terrell cut and rarely released. Soul Time by Shirley Ellis. Superb stomper for a sunny day.
Great songs to get everybody moving also a version of Sunshine of your Love by Spanky Wilson and Bernie Williams classic Ever again.
Motown where to begin . Always start with The Four tops Can't Help Myself.
Baby A Go Go by Barbra Mcnair, Dancing in the Street Martha Reeves and the Vandellas, plus Heatwave. Stevie Wonder My Cherie Amour.
The girl groups Velvelettes did Needle in a Haystack and He Was Really Saying Something classics. Elgins Heaven Has Sent You another on the list.
Always Brenda Holloway upbeat tempo songs. Like Think It Over Before You Break My Heart. Shows the drum beat of the label to a high standard. Plus others like You Have Made Me So Happy.
Just a small glimpse of fabulous music . Those who know me. Understand I have an extensive collection of these songs.
Now on CD in the old days all on vinyl. Had to sell the lot to pay off debts unfortunately. So I play many more I can find to add. Because they leave me happy and not feeling depressed or anxious.
In those days of the Northern Soul Revival . The eighties times and things were different.
We all hark back to a time and a place. This music was my medicine and still is.

I was just playing Mungo Jerry @thespiceman. I was brought up on Motown. My Dad and I saw the Stylistics at Bedworth Civic Hall a couple of years back.Scope

Hello my friend @Richard_Scope What is sad for me. Is that the guys and gals are still working, still trying to make a living. Because many are due royalties and legalities of the record labels.
That they all signed for. Some still alive, some died some never got recognised and have had the families fought on there behalf to payments and monies owned
It is still going on. Having met some off the Motown label stars in the past. Should be retiring yet debt ridden
All left is this great music. Which I and many others like to keep the Faith . Especially Northern Soul.
You can in the Summer go to Blackpool and do the all nighters of the old days. Where some of the Northern Soul stars of the sixties and seventies perform.
Problem is groups like The Stylistics and The Drifters are a brand now. So went to see Drifters in the Seventies with Johnny Moore. He's the rather large guy of the group with a bald head. Died a while back. Drifters have over in their line ups 36 people same with Stylistics, group changes. I believe Russell Tompkins Jnr the leader of the group in the seventies has left some time ago . Understand the same with The Temptations and Four Tops.
Do we care? Or do we want to see them who ever it is sings the songs we all love.
Bone of contention for many.
Great to hear your music memories.
Mine keep me alive. Some how
Hope to chat again nice to meet you
