    Wheetabix with butter
Cereal with fresh orange instead of milk.

my husband frequently wants odd combinations, he likes baked beans on toast with a fried egg and beetroot, the other one he likes is a sandwich with meat, cheese, salad cream and crisps.
He thinks me dipping gherkins into cream cheese and chive mix is odd, also he thinks olives stuffed with cream cheese wrapped in smoked salmon is odd as well, personally I loike that, each to their own :)

This thread reminds me of this poem,

I eat my peas with honey,
I've done it all my life,
It makes the peas taste funny,
But it keeps them on my knife.

Don't know who wrote it but just funny food combos, and this sprung to mind :D

Hello @Richard_Scope Where to start like this and why not.

First time I made Frittata which is an egg based Italian Omelette my neighbours at the same time came around to see me eating.

The looks of horror as I am tucking in cold eggs and with vegetables such as the Med veg . Peppers and Zucchini in the mixture.

Another time Risotto with Beetroot. He's having Rice Pudding with Beetroot they hollered.  No it is Risotto. Explained.  Well that's is rice you have with pudding no it is not.

Like Meat and fruit combinations.  Done Pork Shoulder Steaks grilled with Cinnamon sprinkling over with Peaches and Plums.  Especially Autumn.

Do Curries with Fruit like Pineapple and Mango.

Cooked Lettuce with Pancetta and Beans of course like they do in Southern France.

If you look on the websites lots of recipes do fruit and meat combinations. Also some with nuts. Usual Italy or France or Spain.

Understand at Christmas had Turkey with Chocolate. Like that.

Hello @Richard_Scope Understand it is a Mexican speciality. Called Mole sauce. Pronounced  Molee. Not as one of my friends thought. No it has not got Mole in it.

Hello @Richard_Scope Great more reminders bought a jar Peanut Butter not one with Palm Oil in it.  Thought been reading up on it and said well why not.   Not one to add to the scary uses of it. Read the stories.  Remember my favourite ones sandwiches.

Peanut Butter loads of combinations With Cheese.  With Jam.

My favourite Cheese and Apple or Pears sliced on a bread with peanut butter spread on first.

    Lovely an Elvis Moment.

Remember he did fried PB sandwiches with Bananas.

Only did this when those dark days of addiction . Need that hit and rush. Thank god am now gone down the healthy route.  Still have PB but not like that.

Same with Nutella used to have that with Cheese and  for desert Apples and Pears with home made Nutella Ice cream.  Made with full fat cream and milk.

No wonder I ballooned up to resemble Elvis.

Might well tell you go through two boxes of 500 g of Crunchy Honey Nut cornflakes a week. With milk and cream.   Thank you the Lord that I found the way to stop and be much more healthy.

    Now an Adonis lol

@thespiceman I do like peanut butter, not had it in a sandwich for a while though. I normally use it for making satay now, if you use the crunchy one honestly makes a better sauce for it :)

Glad you found a healthier option.

Hello @fishingmum Thank you for reply. Peanut butter contrary to what the  media say is not unhealthy.  Nuts play a vital role in the diet.

Contains certain fats and these play a role in the body  Not all fats are unhealthy as nutritionists will tell you..  Problem is that certain Peanut Butters are made with sugar and most unhealthy of all. Palm Oil.

Understand will not go into what exactly it does to the body system. Just do know reading what is available on the web.

Also concern for my Adonis type body lol.

Thanks for the recipes and ideas and suggestions.

    Take care
