Dealing with my disability... HELP

Hi, my name is Conan and I'm new to this forum. It's nice to find a place where i can talk to people who understand. I'm 34 and have cerebral palsy & hydrocephalus, I am wheelchair bound and rely on my Mum and Support Workers to help me. I have struggled to deal with my disability and can't seem to come to terms with it even though I've been this way since birth. Ive been backwards and forwards to councillors but nothing seems to help. I was wondering if anybody also feels this way and whether anyone could share how they deal with these feelings? As a result of my problems I struggle with depression and any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance!

    Hi @conan
Thanks for your post. I can completely relate to what you are experiencing. I had a lot of problems in my teenage accepting myself and my Cerebral Palsy. There is no golden solution I'm afraid. I am always around for a chat.

Hi @conan and a warm welcome to the community! I know I too used to struggle to come to terms with my disability (and still do have rough days with it). I think it is about taking each day as it comes and trying to find the positives, as hard as that sometimes can be. The community will be able to relate to this issue and I hope we are able to support you in some way. Please do keep in touch :)

Hi @conan. I’m 18 and have struggled massively in the past to accept and deal with my disability. This led to depression and took years to ‘recover ‘ from. Recover isn’t the right word to use but I suppose there is no right word. I hope you’re doing ok. You’re not alone
