I’ve excepted that i have a mental health issue and require help but it’s not the only thing that i have i have an issue with my self harm, i self harm quit a few times a week because i need the pain. I was told once from my councillor that the reason i self harm is because the only thing I’ve ever known is pain and to be honest she was right because ever since i can remember pain has always been there, if it wasn’t from physical abuse or the mental abuse the pain came from the sexual abuse. So like i say i self harm because i need the pain, so I’m asking does anyone else experience self harm with a reason for a need ? . NC

Hi @cripps, I am sorry to hear that you are struggling with your mental health. There may be many reasons as to why a person self- harms. Thanks Chloe I’ll give it a read and maybe it will help me understand why i do what i do, it’s not that i want too its just that sometimes it’s just the only thing that makes sense to me at the time. Thanks again you have to start somewhere and maybe this is it. NC

That makes sense @cripps, we all do things for a reason and it can be really powerful to understand things in such a way. I hope it helpsScope
