Hi Kirsten, l've suffered a severe head injury and been prescribed most sedatives for a sleeping disorder but what l'm now finding is so long as l avoid certain preservatives, primarily in red meat, I'm able to sleep more hours. Do you know if any research has been done in this and how this preservative will wake people. Paul

red meat has lots of iron in it which creates a lot of energy so maybe avoid big amounts as you said

high energy foods or stuff like red meat may last longer in the body than you think so you feel energetic still or it may interact with the tablet because of the iron and other content in it so therefore, the tablet doesn't work as well as it should do

- preservatives are many so you need to be more specific but if it's high fat (bad fat) or weird chemicals affecting the brain then the energy will be in you still so you cant sleep ; some preservatives can affect the brain https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2017/08/170809155736.htm

What preservative are you talking about I will research it

They burn Nitrates to become Nitrites which is then used to preserve packed meat's and will also give a redder 'healthier' colour to most Supermarket 'fresh' meat. Nitrates occur naturally but it's when it's changed to Nitrites that l find it affects me. A Nitrite Free farm in Ireland advertises on the internet.
