and the other is for supporting me with Cancer?

Hi @dougbug
Good Evening & Welcome it’s great for meet you today.
Yes the Benefit System is very very difficult to waid through to be honest.
Please please let me know if you want me to look into things for you ????? -
Hello, things have been so frustrating! Benefits
that give with one hand but take with another
really does seem discriminatory?Any help would
be good, how? -
Hi,Yes this is correct but she could get any underlying entitlement to it. This means that if she wasn't previously receiving pension credit then she could now possible claim this. As it's impossible to give benefits advice on an internet forum because no one knows either of your circumstances then i'd recommend visiting your local CAB for a full benefits check.See link that explains the underlying entitlement to carers allowance.
I would appreciate it if members wouldn't tag me please. I have all notifcations turned off and wouldn't want a member thinking i'm being rude by not replying. If i see a question that i know the answer to i will try my best to help. -
Hi
Try giving Carers UK helpline a call on tel: 0808 808 7777.
They will answer your questions in full and seek advice what other benefits, you might be entitled to.
Let us know, how you get on. -
Thanks for help, will let u know.

Yes, once you get an old age pension the carer's allowance ceases. You give the same dedicated care and get nothing more than your pension. Minimum wage? Carers who are pensioners don't get even that! Carers save the government millions but then we all know that. Nothing changes.
-
Is this the same hole as A A Benefit can't get into
Mobility because they are discriminated against
because of their age.? -
Carers allowance is not the same as AA. Two completely different benefits. Those that claim state pension, if they claim CA they will have an underlying entitlement to it.I would appreciate it if members wouldn't tag me please. I have all notifcations turned off and wouldn't want a member thinking i'm being rude by not replying. If i see a question that i know the answer to i will try my best to help.
