Looking to reduce hours

I am seriously considering having to reduce my hours at work as my Fibromyalgia/Osteoarthritis worsens. I am really struggling (long hours averaging 50 per week). Trouble is, I cannot afford to reduce my hours and I'm not unwell enough for PIP (scoring 4 out of 8 points). The thing is, I am still very independent (I don't need help with anything) but I know I need a lot more rest as I am burning myself out. The flare ups are happening more and more as time goes by and I'm really struggling at times. Any advice?

Hi @Nightfire, I'm sorry to hear this. It can be tough when you feel like you're caught in the middle!
Have you tried discussing reasonable adjustments with your employer, to see if there are accommodations that can be made for you and your health? -
Hi Pippa, Work have been pretty good and very understanding with regard to my condition. They have agreed to reduce my hours but I will have to compensate for the missing hours somehow.

It really is a tricky situation @Nightfire, I'm sorry you're having to deal with this on top of everything else. I've moved this post into our ask an employment advisor category in case there is anything else our advisors can recommend.

Thanks Pippa, I've also put spmething similar there. Am at work atm. It's quiet and it's all I can do not to fall asleep!

Hi@Nightfire
I'm sorry to hear about your challenging situation.
Could I ask you what your job role is?
And would it be possible for you, as a reasonably adjustment, to work from home certain hours?
Kind Regards
Pia

Hi Pia, not an option I'm afraid. I am a support worker.
Kind regards
