Too soft with autistic children?

I know sometimes autistic children and sufferers can't help their behaviour but being autistic myself it shocks me how lenient parents of autistic children are these days!! I think they are way to soft and autistic children need boundaries and also discipline. They should not treat their parents like servants either like I've seen in some cases

I'm a parent of an autistic 14 yr old boy. My son is extremely demand avoiding. He has awful anxiety and it takes very little to tip him over into a meltdown.
Am I too lenient, maybe. But I worry about his mental health.
