    Hello ,
    I have Fibromyalgia and arthritis.
I was a primary teacher until 2004 . Now I get fed up with being indoors most days , being too tired and in too much pain to face going out.
I am very anxious about meeting people or phoning family and friends as I don’t want to bother them, even my lovely grown up children .
i have a husband, but we don’t go out together much now.
I really need new interests and new contacts .
    thank you
    Jean

Hello @jeanypee3   Pleased to meet you welcome.

Thank you for joining and sharing.

I am one of the team of community champions who guide, advise and help new members. Who join.

You come to the right place for support and most of important of all new friends.

I am the same as your self have problems meeting people. Get anxiety and struggle to fit in.

Have disability and mental health issues.

Done loads of volunteering and plenty of employment.

This helps being part of the forum.  Found new friends.

Have you considering looking at a SCOPE to volunteer something like this.

Being a community champion. If your interested .  Speak to community@scope.org.uk.

The role involves meeting and greeting new members .  Answering any questions and queries.

Lots are benefits but you can get help with those..  Often give standard answers. Plus also information on any organisations any one wants.

Lot of the time is spent just being polite, helpful, kind. Use your own experience if you wish to.  Understand I do.

My own mental health, disability and working in various volunteering roles.  Life skills and talents maybe as well.

You do the hours you wish to. Me I am here every day a few hours each day or more. All depends on my time.

    Pleasure to meet you.

Thank you for sharing this with us @jeanypee3

You may find our dealing with chronic pain discussions page useful and our chronic pain advisor may provide additional support. We also have KaleidoScope - our own gallery for members' art work, crafts and photographs and our coffee lounge - where you can chat to other community members about anything.
