When i was about 15 I was diagnosed with lichen schlerosus and my skin specialist said she thinks I've probably had it for around 7 years before being diagnosed at the age of 15. I felt really distressed because she said you can get skin cancer in the future and also because I don't hear a lot a girls my age saying to me they got the same issue. Also, when people don't know what the condition is itself, it makes the situation more difficult because it feels really uncomfortable sometimes. But I got used to it after about 2 and a half years. Then one day I was sitting at my aunt's house and saw the same medication that I use for my lichen schlerosus in her medication box, I asked my aunt have you got lichen schlerosus, she said yes she has got the condition but she got it after having her children. Also, I had a focal seizure in bed in the summer, it was my first one but it wasnt a surprise to me because my mum has been diagnosed with epilepsy and also I was getting a range of symptoms before and after the seizure for example, twitching, a few episodes of sleep paralysis.
