    The scale normally used is

Fast walking    60- 90   metre per minute
slow walking   45 - 60  metre per minute
very slow        up to 45 metre per minute

ergo  for mobility consider < 30 seconds for 20 metres

This was something assessors and tribunals were doing which is not in line with the descriptors. By asking how long can you walk for, with a little persuasion, most people would answer 1 or 2 minutes. This does not sound very much at all but the descriptor asks for the distance " How far can you walk " . When applied to the above scale even 1 minute could put you in descriptor b  the 50 -200 metre distance, and therefore only 4 points. The translation from time to distance is then a matter of opinion and as we all know claimants over/under state their ability

I was awarded pip standard for both last April but my representative is convinced I should get higher for both as I used to because they helped me with my application from the beginning and know my circumstances well. So I appealed and date given for hearing once but called off as they wanted more medical evidence. I am now given another date and I am worried sick.

@smahira - you may be overthinking this and it seems to me that you're not as convinced about your entitlement to a higher award as your representative is. I apologise if I have misunderstood your post.

In any event,If you're asked about holidays then just tell the truth, as you've written above.

Thank you for responding so quickly. I am convinced and I believe I should get higher award. But it’s being almost a year. I have physical as well as mental problems and this is making me even unwell.
Thanks again I will let you know the outcome.

    Hi
thank you to everyone who supported me. I had my hearing today. I was awarded enhanced for both mobility and daily by the appeal panels.

That is great news. You should ring DWP in a few days to make sure they have a copy of the decision. Normally tribunal decisions take 5-8 weeks to put into payment
