I have various medical conditions including a failed right knee replacement. I feel so lonely and frustrated at times...
I was dismissed from work due to my health a few years ago, having worked since I was 16yrs old. I’m now in my early 50’s. I have no friends now, or work colleagues to socialise with, and my hobby of showing dogs is now impossible....

Welcome to the community @Gill104 I am sorry to hear this. How are you doing today? I am sorry to hear this. Have you been in touch with your GP for emotional support? Also getting in touch with your local library or council, to see if there's any local groups you can join.

Hi @Gill104 welcome to the community! I am sorry to hear this. I was dismissed 2 years ago due to my health and it devastated me. It took me a long time to see the light and find ways in which I can focus on what I can do rather than what I can't do. If you need to talk, we are always hereDisability Gamechanger - 2019

Hello @Gill104, I'm sorry to read this. Along with losing touch with colleagues and friends, the absence of the sort of structure and routine that a job forces you to have can be very tough on mental health. MIND's tips on self-care might be useful to you, but as @Ami2301 said, we're always here if you need to talk. Please stay in touch and let us know if you need anything.Community Manager
