Hi @gordh and welcome to the community! I too have hemiplegia which affects the left side of my body. I'm sorry to hear you also struggle with your mental health, do you currently have any support in place for this? Please feel free to have a look around the community and don't hesitate to ask if you need anythingScope

Hi @gordh welcome to the community. How are you doing today? Some of our members have mentioned hemiplegia, are you receiving any emotional support? If not you can get in touch with your GP, who will be able to suggest the right support for you. We have a mental health discussions group you can join.

There has now been research to show that adults with CP have higher instance of depression and anxiety http://theconversation.com/adults-with-cerebral-palsy-have-high-rates-of-depression-and-anxiety-new-study-107028. Sorry, not much help maybe, but does indicate that you are far from alone with this.

Hi. I have right sided hemiplegia and controlled Epilepsy. I do have days where I feel really down with no explanation as to why, but I know it's only temporary and try not to let it overwhelm me.
If you don't feel you are managing perhaps visit your G.P. for support.
Take care
