Hi. So sorry for never getting back in contact.
My 17yr old son has mild left side Hemiplegia and managed to get an apprenticeship brick laying. My son is slower than the average person slow at learning, obviously this is effecting his job. The bosses feel he's not improving enough or quick enough, because of this they're setting targets and if he doesn't achieve them I think they'll try and have him out. My son feels he needs to move on as it's getting him down, he suffers with stress and anxiety as it is and needs help with that so this doesn't help. My son wants to work and earn but feels limited, he's not the kind whete he wants a sit down office but feels he's limited. He's use to earning to so to him it's a must. Any advice please? Sorry for the essay

Hi @kimbles
I have right sided hemiplegia and always wanted to work. I did go into an office environment because I was limited to what I could manage, but also faced the same type of issues as your son. According to past employers I wasn't learning quick enough or I couldn't help with manual tasks. Eventually I did get people in work to understand my limitations and things improved. But the stress and anxiety I felt was overwhelming at times. Is there anyone at the business your son could talk to? Under the Equality Act they do have to make reasonable adjustments. They understood your son had a disability when they gave him the apprenticeship.
I hope things work out for him
Sara
