Hi
I am due to have an operation on my foot in October and will be off of work for 4-6 weeks, I am self-employed and my husband gets Carers allowance. Would I be entitled to any benefits?

Hi @lorriemarie and welcome to the Community. It is nice to meet you. Sorry to hear that you are having to have surgery on your foot and hope it goes well. The Scope link below regarding benefits may be of some help to you:-

I'm sure also that there will be some members on the Community or one of the Community Team who may be able to best advise you. I hope you get things sorted out anyway. All the best.Winner of the Scope New Volunteer Award 2019. -
HI,If you've paid enough NI Contributions between April 2016 and March 2018 then you'll be able to claim New style ESA with a fit note from your GP. It's £73.10 per week and is paid for 365 days unless placed into the Support Group and then it's paid for as long as you remain in that group.https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/new-style-employment-and-support-allowance-esa-claim-formIf you haven't paid enough during that time then it will be Universal Credit and claiming this will depend on your circumstances such as household income, savings and capital.
I would appreciate it if members wouldn't tag me please. I have all notifcations turned off and wouldn't want a member thinking i'm being rude by not replying. If i see a question that i know the answer to i will try my best to help. -
