As well as fibromyalgia I have the above, I had non epileptic attack disorder for years, just didn't realise what was going on, I ended up in A&E really bad but was basically discharged with leaflets.
I am having flashbacks PTSD, am seeing a private therapist as the NHS doesn't seem to care.
I have been told I should have an NHS mental health key worker, what is one of them , I don't understand.
As I say I went to A&E explained my issues, flashbacks etc, can't sleep felt really freaked out but was discharged with no mental health referral.
Should I be on the Care Programme Approach does that still exist?

I am totally confused but surely as I have chronic long term physical health problems and this personality disorder thing surely I should be seeing NHS people- multi disciplinary team?
I am seeing the therapist see my other post who just doesn't understand about fibromyalgia.
So what do I do, just don't seem to be getting much support and understanding?

Hi @needavan. I’m sorry you feel so unsupported. You must have so many questions. Unfortunately we’re not mental health experts here, but I’m going to tag @MickConnon in as he might be able to give you some advice as it definitely sounds like you should be getting more support than you are.

    Hello @needavan

You need to talk to your GP first of all. Ask him or her for a referral to your local community mental health services. They will definitely assess your circumstances and help you make a plan. Are you seeing a therapist or counseller or not?
There are also helplines manned by volunteers who can support you. Samaritans is one such organisation that has a helpline the number to call is 116 123. For more information please see this page https://www.nhs.uk/using-the-nhs/nhs-services/mental-health-services/how-to-access-mental-health-services/
Do not delay. Regarding your physical health, ask to see a fibromyalgia doc for answers.

    Hi
I can barely get out of my bed let alone see my GP, my GP has known about my conditions for years and years and I think its Victor Meldrew who said has done **** all.
I went to see the therapy centre on the leaflet, after a couple of sesions it was decided they couldn't help, they deal with simple things marriage break ups, I was told I needed psychotherapy. An appointment was arranged with the community mental health services as you say but it was then cancelled as  it was thought without meeting me that I didn't need treatment.

I am seeing a private therapist very nice lady but not a clue about chronic long term illness.

Ref my fibromyalgia I was seeing people at the hospital but it just all sort tailed off, I was seeing a physio and the pain management clinic. But they cannot cure it you have to live with it, some days I can barely get out of bed, toilet, and that's about it.

I have been told that the waiting are long 9-12 months for mental health services, my friend waited almost 2 years for psychotherapy, no help support in the meantime just told you have to wait.
I feel very very let down by the G.P. and the NHS just dumped on the scrap heap basically.
I think perhaps a letter to my G.P, but he knows about my suicide attempt and did nothing.
Maybe I need to complain about my G.P. don't know very confused, I should be getting some help but I am not.

Hi @needavan, I'm sorry at the lack of support you are currently receiving. Have you tried seeing a different GP? I appreciate this is not easy.

I think its more than just seeing the G.P. I should be getting help support and treatment anyway , there is NHS Nice guidance on chronic long term conditions.
all the g.p. says is contact social services get carers in, but carers won't deal with the constant pain tiredness and lack of sleep.

what are my rights, who can tell me, there is a pain clinic, massive waiting list but as I say seen them.
just tired of being tired all the time, pain all the time and the lack of understanding.
That if I do more I will get better, no I just get more pain, that I shouldn't stay in bed all day, I am in so much pain, I can barely move. If I rest I can do more pacing I think its called. Even sitting on the sofa hurts I am in pain all the time no one understands.
Mental health services I have been assessed and they have decided the emergency crisis line is the service I need when things get too bad.
isn't there treatment for ptsd on the nhs?
I am just having to fight for everything but too tired to fight.

Hi @needavan, I can understand your frustrations and I imagine you feel like you have gone around in circles.

Unfortunately we are not mental health specialists, so it can be difficult to know what would help you during this time. However, we are here to listen. We are always here for you to voice your thoughts and to support you during this.

Here is the Action on Pain helpline, that you may find useful:
I appreciate you are going through a challenging time and the frustrations around not being understood. You are not alone in feeling this and I hope we can be here when you need us, as well as being able to connect with other members you can relate to.
