    Welcome to Scope!
In terms of meeting people, you have a number of options. What are your interests and hobbies? Are you into art for example? Another good way of meeting people is to own a pet. Or you could always sign up for activities for disabled folk. Alternatively you could join a exercise class aimed at disabled people of all ages and abilities.
Volunteering is a good way to make friends too. Disability Horizons has a good article on the benefifs of volunteering. Take a look. https://disabilityhorizons.com/2017/06/the-value-of-volunteering-if-youre-disabled/
This is a good site for finding voluntary roles.

A number of care companies run activities for disabled adults. It is worth finding out what is on offer- talk to your local council. Or look at their website for more information on services provided. It is normal to be overwhelmed at first. This article aims to reduce that.
Find a support group. Join. Alternatively search for adult learning classes at your local library. Your local council also runs day centres, use this tool https://www.gov.uk/day-care-centres to find one in the area.
Take up a sport. There are plenty of sports clubs and leisure centres all over the country. They run a number of activities. Check their websites, FB page, phone, email or go into the leisure centre to speak to someone at the desk.
Best of wishes! There are dating sites and apps but I don’t generally recommend them. Be brave. See what is available at your nearest community college or university. Research is key here. Again, look at the website or pick up a brochure with course details.
Remember it takes time to make friends. Be patient. https://www.liveabout.com/ways-to-meet-new-people-1385464
One more way to make friends is to sign up for community events. Smile, make small talk and also make eye contact. Get out there. Do you enjoy music? History? Dancing? There is something for everyone. I hope I have provided you with some useful suggestions to try. If you enjoy gardening, use that as a excuse to meet others.
Same goes for cookery or art. Forgive me for rambling on, this is a topic near and dear to me. Attend events.

Welcome to the community @alaine! Please have a look around, get involved and let us know if we can do anything to help :)

There is also MeetUp which you may find helpful.

    Hi Alaine,

I was going to suggest Meetup.com as Chole has already mentioned. it is a platform where you can search for activities via your own postcode. Good luck.
