Hello everyone, my name is Tom, I'm a retired RNLD, who has recently returned to working in a community setting. I have 40 years experience of working in a variety of environments. In tandem to this I was an active member of Unison and branch welfare officer.
I'm working on a project of supervision of support workers, my questions are
Do you have clinical supervision
How often
Do you benefit from it
What makes for an effective supervisor
Any replies would be most appreciated
Thank you
Tom

A effective supervisor is on the ball. He/she is proactive not lazy or uncaring either. How will you use this information?
I am a unpaid carer but this is a non comprehensive list of qualities needed to work in the industry:
Quick to sort out issues/proactive
Kind
Polite
Easygoing
Trustworthy
Sociable
Good communication skills are required. Also you need basic numeracy and literacy skills.
