Hi @Tractorgirlali and thanks for your nice words.  Nice to meet you too and welcome to the Community.  I wouldn't say I'm a big fan of football, but I do like the odd game.  It's my husband who is mad about it!  Since meeting him I haven't been able to escape football really!  Yes, it's nice to see us ladies enjoying football too.  Who is your favourite team?  Do you like to watch the women's football?  I like to watch that sometimes too.

Hi @WestHam06 and it's nice to speak to you again.  I don't have a favourite player although I did really like Hendrik Laarson when he played for Celtic and my claim to fame is that I used to receive treatment from the ex Celtic physiotherapist as he has his own private practice.  I think that my husband likes Scott Brown too as he mentions him a lot.

I remember as a youngster watching Vieira and Keane getting a little to involved and though I completely disagree with some of their actions, both showed a passion and willingness to do the best for their respective clubs. As a West Ham fan, Mark Noble is an absolute legend, he is not the best footballer in the world but their is a passion and determination to do his best for the Irons and he is extremely loyal. It does help that he is a West Ham fan himself.  Thank you.
Obviously Vieira and Keane were very good footballers in their own right, but what made them popular was the sort of dedication that Noble has in spades. Everybody wants a Pogba in their team, but it's the Mark Nobles who turn up in every game.

As a neutral, I loved the whole Keane Viera thing! Proper midfielders with a genuine dislike of each other.
I wouldn't have Pogba even if he was gift-wrapped.

    Hi Both,
Hope you are both well. Completely agree about the Viera and Keane rivalry, classic to watch but they were both such quality players. I'd take Mark Noble every time over Paul Pogba :) You can't beat grit and determination.

Pogba was a bad example, especially as I wouldn't have him either! I was going to say Messi, but he's a bit anomalous as he turns up in every game that's not in an Argentina shirt.

    Hi @Adrian_Scope
To be fair, I think I would take Mark Noble over most of the so called 'real talents', though I do acknowledge Messi is pure class. Here's a question for everyone:
'Who do you think is the better footballer, Messi or Ronaldo?'

For me it would have to be Messi, I just think he is the more natural. Thank you.

I'm looking forward to the Bundesliga tomorrow too. Any football to be quite honest.

You're right, it would be a good thing for the broadcasters to do. In fairness to SKY they suspended my payments for sports until the footy is all sorted. I have less than glowing comments about Premier Sports

That's a tough one. While they're different footballers, it's not like there's a lot in it. I guess I'll say Messi.

Cristiano, for me. Better in the air but it is incredibly close. Did anybody catch the Bundesliga at the weekend? It was strange with no fans. VAR still took an age! I turned it off about 30 minutes in.

Probably fairer to cancel and strike it from the record.  ;)

On a serious note, I think VAR has morphed from what people were originally talking about when they wanted video assistance. I remember being all for it, but in a way I'm starting to miss the little bits of controversy that VAR has all but washed away.

Bundesliga was odd. It didn't feel quite real, as if I was watching a training ground game or playing those pre-match challenges on FIFA. It was the same with the Juventus v Inter match back at the start of March. The fans give the game gravitas and urgency. Without them it's just a bunch of very wealthy blokes in shorts and long socks chasing each other around.
