Hi @depressedmum09 and a warm welcome to the community! I'm sorry to hear about you are feeling unstable at the moment. Is there much support at home for you?

I'm glad the woman who did your assessment was lovely. We are all rooting for a positive result for you.

Are currently feeling safe? If you are having suicidal thoughts MIND have some useful information on how you can support yourself. Also, there is some long term plans that you can put in place. Of course, if you feel in danger then please call 999 or go to your nearest A&E department.

If you feel like the medication isn't working or has reduced its effectiveness, then please see your GP or mental health specialist.

    Hi @depressedmum09

I understand the anxiety with getting the report back, but the way I looked at it is if the decision maker went with what the assessor said then I would have time to write a good Mandatory Reconsideration. I went through my report with a fine tooth comb to see if the assessor had made any mistakes and wrote those down, but most of my MR was me trying to explain why I thought I deserved more points for certain things. It also gave me a chance to gather any extra evidence that I thought I might need.

By getting the report you're giving yourself a bit long to write your MR, or you'll be able to relax a bit more if they have awarded you enough points :)

Hi everyone, a little update nothing concrete but my friend called up for yesterday around 4pm. She has requested a copy of the report for me and asked some questions about it whilst she was on the phone.
The Assessor pretty much wrote down everything I struggle with, the help I need and the daily struggles I have so thats a relief I suppose. I guess I have to hope the decision maker goes off the report so this can all be over. I have never done something thats this stressfull in my life.
The lady on the phone also mentioned its already with a decision maker so she said from her experience I should have a decision by next week providing they dont want more evidence from me.

    Hi,

When you receive the report you need to use the PIP descriptors online to see what points, if any have been recommended. Points in the report are not added because it's just a recommendation, although they usually go with the report but they can go against, it's just rare they do this.

    Good luck.
I would appreciate it if members wouldn't tag me please. I have all notifcations turned off and wouldn't want a member thinking i'm being rude by not replying.

I didnt hear the phone call but my friend asked the lady on the phone to read out what she has written, on everything I need help with she listed, for example (managing therapy: requires aid, supervision and prompting to take medication and or attend therapy sessions and the question of meeting other people face to face: claimant confined to house due to severe psycological stress endured when seeing other people. Can only leave the home with the aid of another person due to severe anxiety and panic attacks)
With that in my report does that sound like a good thing? Or can the decision maker still request more evidence?

@cupcake88 thats so kind cupcake, thank you. I hope you get what you need from all this.
I think both of our claims are pretty similar, with timescales aswell so lets hope we both just get a decision and we dont need to take it further. As soon as I hear anything I will post on here to let you know.
Have you had the text from DWP yet to say they have your report back?

In the report there will be dots placed next to the descriptor that's recommended. You need to look at those and compare them against the PIP descriptors. What you've read out here is the justification. No one can speculate anything at this stage.

@cupcake88 hmm I’m not really sure I haven’t really thought bout it I think I do deserve higher daily living and lower mobility . I’m trying not to think what I will be getting until it has been awarded if that makes sense . Well I haven’t had a text yet lol and every one else who had there accessments this week has had a text . Xx

If you put a mobile number on the form then you will receive a text once the report has been returned. Sometimes the reports are delayed being returned, especially if they've been chosen for audit, which can considerably delay the decision process. If it has been sent to audit, don't worry, it's nothing to worry about. It just means the HCP is being checked that they did what they should have.

@cupcake88 @poppy123456 i have an update. I received my report through the post today (so fast... right?!)
Everything the assessor wrote in the descriptor is correct, however, the options she selected doesnt reflect what shes wrote. She contradicts herself throughout.
    For example:
    (Her justification for discriptor)
Engaging with other people face to face:

unable to leave the home without another person, severe anxiety to a point where claimant can vomit. Due to anxiety attacks claimant will remain confined to bedroom to avoid contact unless necessary like therapy appointment. Where a friend will come to the home and take her in a car as she is unable to use public transport. Claimant does not leave the house otherwise.

    Then awards me:

Can engage with other people unaided. 0 points

I received 11 points in total (based on the assessment from the assessor) for daily living. Thats all. I dont feel it reflects my needs.

Her selections (to award points) is the opposite to what she has wrote in the descriptor box.

Does the decision maker just go off the selections the assessor has made? Or do they read the full report and make a decision from everything?

If the decision is made based on the selections i will receive daily living standard and nothing else.

I hoped i didnt have to do a mandatory reconsideration but looks like I will have to. Its been so stressful up until this point. Im so disappointed.

@depressedmum09 that’s really quick . I’m feeling worried now because a few people have had there results back quickly and I haven’t heard nothing from them no text no nothing .

as far as what I read on here the decision maker can award more points I think . Doesn’t hurt to be prepared . I don’t see how you got 0 points when you can’t socialise with people that makes no sense . Makes me panicked now to what the hell mines goes to say .

I can’t even cope with the stress . I still haven’t heard any thing I know it’s not even been a full week but because other people are hearing back on the forum I’m thinking it’s bad news .

do you know when you will get the full letter threw ? Saying whether or not you have recieved pip ? Did you get any thing for mobility ?

I mean At least some thing is better than nothing at the moment but it’s worth drafting up a mr x

I got nothing for mobility, but considering i am literally confined to my bedroom through the fear of seeing or speaking to someone. I cant go out the house on a journey without someone with me. She stated exactly that in her description but didnt give me anything.
I am expecting to receive the award letter soon. I am hoping the decision maker does look at the description and not just the selected answers because they will see she contradicts herself over and over.
If i have any further updates il let you know soon as xx

They usually go with the report, it's rare to go against it but it can and does happen. You will of course need to wait for the decision before requesting the MR.

Please try to relax. Not receiving a text yet stating DWP have received the report doesn't mean anything bad. It could be that your report has been chosen for audit, which i'm sure i advised you this on another thread. My daughters first PIP claim assessment report was sent to audit and the decision took just over 6 weeks. They kept the report for more than 5 weeks before returning it to DWP. If it has been chosen for audit this can delay the decision making porcess considerably.

You can ring the health assessment providers and they will tell you what's happening. If it's in audit they will tell you, what they can't tell you is how long it will take. If there's an issue with something in the report it won't be returned until it's put right.

Nothing at all for you to worry about, it just means the HCP is being checked.
