    Welcome!
Also, well done for getting this far. My daughter (now 16) who is high functioning autistic with (unconfirmed) PDA. Our psychiatrist and psychologist did not want to put the PDA on paper due to the fact that is perceived in a negative light and is confused with ODD.
Since we have been treating her as PDA, she is behaving better and all together life is more manageable and she is much less likely to have a melt-down or shut-down. I regret waiting as long as I did to have her 'labeled' - she was 14.
They key thing (in my opinion) to remember is that she cannot help it and does not do it on purpose and it is NOT your fault.
My daughter is pretty amazing now - attending a military boarding school (by choice) that specialises in engineering and I am well proud of her. She is still super hard work, but that is okay.

Hi  @Mishnbelle i hope you don’t mind me jumping in on this chat??
I’m also new to the group, my daughter is at the beginning of her journey for asd, sensory processing disorder and maybe dyspraxia too..I’m slowly learning about different disabilities and feel she may also be high functioning but I didn’t know what PDA was until I have just researched it and I feel this may be also something she has but I don’t know if I’m just being worried or overly paranoid. Since lockdown I fear she is getting worse and I’m really struggling with her as I also have an 18 month old and it breaks my heart to see her struggle.. I’ve googled everything u can think of and it’s driving me insane..

    PDA society is good.
Start the journey to diagnosis, having a label opens doors and puts you in contact with others in a similar position who understands and does not judge.
