Hello I hope you are all good!!

Unfortunately I’m not so well, since the last seizure that was on Sunday the 16th, I’m having small fits, loss of awareness, my hands start shaking more than usual, some spontaneous movements, insomnia things like that. I din’t work on the weekend on Friday I had to leave sooner, Yesterday I talk with the manger once again, she  says that next week I’m going to do less night shifts, but I have to do one or two days at night.

Last night I went to the worst section pontwach I really need to work and I don’t want to live on benefits, but the ambient in the kitchen it’s unbelievable, too much pressure sometimes I get bullied, I really think that my colleagues are trying that I’ve a seizure at work, maybe they want to have a laugh with it, they know that a lot of noise can lead to a seizure so they bang with things, yesterday was the plates they even get little smashes.

I really need to work but I think I have to consider in finding another job. The kitchen manager even said, that I prefer to work on pontwach because In there I don’t need to think a lot, he didn’t say directly to me of course. So this is want happens wen you aren’t “normal” I don’t belong anywhere now, I know it’s not true but it’s what I feel. And that’s it I can do much only go to work everyday, today I’m on the night shift again God help me, I hope today I go to the salad section it’s the easiest one. I really don’t understand because we are very, very busy we have do to a lot of prep, why they don’t but me working on mornings, and doing lunch time, It’s unwillingness

kisses and hugs ❤️

Hi sorry to hear things are  not going well for you at work. Have you had an assessment by Occupational Health maybe they can help and make recommendations to your employer about where and hours you should work

Or have you spoke to your HR department about your concerns especially if you feel you are being bullied

Hi @NellyMaggie. I'm sorry that you're still having problems at work :( I remember last time you said you were going to try and speak to Occupational Health about what's been going on. Did you manage to speak to them? As Jane said, they might be able to make recommendations to your employer.

    Hello @janer1967 and
    @Tori_Scope
    thank you for your care,
everything that we need we talk to the managers at the restaurant, general manager and kitchen manager, the bullying it’s slowing down, and I  talk to general manager again saying that I really can’t work at night,  it ins’t easy this week is being terrible for me, I even felt last Wednesday! I’m completely drained. I talk to my GP she advise me to talk to the specialist the neurologist and the neurosurgeon, I already send a letter to both, talking about my symptoms I even ask the neurologist to write a letter saying that I can’t work at night.

Fortunately my route next week I don’t have night shifts only Sunday, but ins’t until close just to do the service and wen it’s over I finish work. The general manager made the rota, but the kitchen manager isn’t happy about it he is picking and angry, I ask him what was needed to do and he just say “nothing every thing is done” he’s giving my tasks to another chef he does this so he can send me home early, but I always find some to do, he is picking with my partner too, he also is a chef. He’s working in this company for seven to eight years and I’m doing four In a few months ins’t fair.

I didn’t speak to her still because I don’t want any problems, but if this situation continues I’m definitely going to talk to Occupation  Health. I really can take it anymore it’s to much I just don’t understand we care so much for this company, we are very hard workers, we do everything right since day one I just don’t understand, if we were lazy but we aren’t, even being to way that I’m feeling I’m going to work, and I really do my best every day. Even on Wednesday wen I fell I didn’t go home, I stay at work until finish.

I’m so grateful to you both, Jane and Tori you are amazing because you care, and his good to know that somebody cares and I can get some help. I’m going to wait a few more days to see if things change if not I don’t have any choice.

    Thanks for the update

You really should go to OH it shouldn't cause any trouble they are the best to advise on how your condition should be taken into account in a work environment

As @janer1967 said, Occupational Health shouldn't cause any trouble @NellyMaggie. I'm glad that you've already spoken to your GP. It sounds like they've been supportive.

I'm sorry to hear that you fell last Wednesday, are you okay?

It doesn't seem as though things have been improving at work, and it can't go on as it is, so I really would urge you to take the next step in getting an assessment from Occupational Health.

I am not surprised that your colleagues appear to be trying to start you off as it is very often that such people have no concept of how dangerous such things can be and ofc if they haven't actually seen it maybe you are making it up. The lack of knowledge in healthy people is beyond belief. I know that when I was still working and having migraines 3 or 4 times a week and also getting excessive pain there were a few that thought I was trying it on. In fact this continued until one day the pain in my shoulder became so intense that my arm simply ceased to function for a few minutes and I dropped the money I was carrying all over the floor (at that time I was counting money for Securitas). Everyone just stared at me because of the noise and the Supervisor took me aside for an explanation. I just looked at her and said "I have been telling you about this for months". I was moved to a shift where it wouldn't happen again and not long after was asked to leave when even that became too much. I haven't been able to work since even though the progression was initially very slow.

I hope you get through this and try to remember that it doesn't matter what other people think, you know what your problems are.

I’m going to wait and see, what it’s going to happen, I hope they make a good rota for next week. At least I haven’t been having seizures just some small fits, arm trembling or hand small things.
Once again thank you for your help, I will keep you updated

    Definitely keep us updated @NellyMaggie

Even though you haven't been having seizures, it still doesn't sounds as though you've been very well. I'm with Jane on this one, send an email to OH and see how it goes from there :)

Hi @NellyMaggie, I'm really sorry to hear how you have been treated at work! I hope your leg doesn't take too long to heal. It also might be worth contacting ACAS for some employment advice. Please do let us know how you get on. :)

    Hi @janer1967 @Tori_Scope @Chloe_Scope

My neurologist send me a letter, I already give them. They are giving me day shifts, 9/5 and 12/5
But I don’t think that they are very happy with that, let’s see!

I really want to thank you for your help and understanding. You do an amazing job helping people.

I will keep you updated, if things go on the wrong way wen this pandemic stop I will talk to one of your adviser and try to find another job.

    Thank you so much ????

Hi @Tori_Scope At least I can work ?I din’t talk to them, the general manager and the kitchen manager was  very upset wen I give the letter from the neurologist. I can imagine how they react if OH contact them.

Unfortunately I really have to find another job, they don’t want me here.
I saw on the government page that they help as well to find a job, people who have health problems.

    Thank you

@janer1967 it’s the least I can do, I’m really grateful. You could just say comfort words or put a sad emoji face! ?

It’s good to know that I have support, it’s very important that I keep working, not just because I needed and I do need, but also because it make me feel better

    I understand @NellyMaggie

The government scheme sounds good. Was it the Access to Work one you were looking at?

I can't remember if we've signposted you to this before, but we also run a Support to Work service here at Scope :)

    I hope everything's going well!

    @Tori_Scope
it was on Access to Work yes, I was exciting because I really don’t know if it’s safe to change work, but I think it’s going to be ok at least I hope so.

I was talking with an advisor of scoop, but then I start having seizures again, and I ask her to wait, and then the lockdown starts. I will contact your advisors again, and the government as well. I just want to have security at work, if I din’t have to worried  about that it will make me feel better and less stressed. ?

honestly The pressure at work it’s not helping. But I’m ok the medical Center send me a message with an appointment today I’m gonna ask her something for anxiety and something to sleep as well.

But I’m ok ? tank you I hope you are well to
