Changes to the online community and its team

Hello everybody,

You might have seen some new Scope names floating about the community in recent weeks. This is because the online community team has expanded to included @Cher_Scope, @Ross_Scope and @Tori_Scope as our new community co-ordinators.

As well as us having new members of the team, the online community will also be extending the hours in which it's 'manned'.
A member of the community team will be available from 8am to 8pm on weekdays and from 10am to 6pm on weekends. Outside of these hours, if you see any content that you feel breaches the community guidelines or makes you concerned about the welfare of the poster, please report this using the 'flag' and 'report' function at the bottom of the post and a member of the team will review it out of hours.

I’m so glad I came across this wonderful online community.

As I previously said, I was actually shocked to come across so many wonderful people who actually want to help each other instead of harming each other ?

As many of you will know I have had some really bad experiences because of being bullied and harassed at work which has resulted in PTSD, so finding a community that actually cares has really helped me?

A big problem is that many people don’t want to understand how disability can affect someone’s life and they don’t even try. In my case I am just seen as a nuisance and that I should “move on” especially in relation to the PTSD.

I have been able to talk to people on this online community about all of my disabilities (Rheumatoid Arthritis, Osteoarthritis and PTSD), gardening, television programmes, wildlife etc?

There is a wealth of knowledge within this online community which people are willing to share in order to make a difference to someone’s ife?

Do you know how happy I feel if someone posts a reply to something I have said or someone likes one of the photos of my little squirrel friends?

The answer is that it makes a huge difference to me after years of being “an afterthought” especially at work. It is really horrible when I know I can do my job but I am seen as nothing but an afterthought?

In case anyone thinks I am imagining things well being obviously excluded from team events and having explain to members of other teams who have noticed why I have been left out can be very embarrassing?

Or the team making travel arrangements amongst themselves and not bothering to ask me how I intend to get to the venue?

I know I can make an effective contribution but because of the fact that I am disabled and I have PTSD (which was caused by what happened to me at work), many people don’t value my contribution?

At least here I have had the chance to try to help others (and I am not saying that anything I say actually helps, but I do try to help) which I actually like doing unlike at work where my views are usually ignored and I don’t feel valued there.

The fact that so many people want to support each other is like a breathe of fresh air?
