Haha  thanks @WestHam06. I was mainly there for entertainment :D

Yeah PhD is correct. Wow! That is impressive. Definitely get them involved. I did find that we were overthinking some of the clues though, lots of them were simpler than we were making out.

No problem! That's a good trait to have, and it's always good to get some help from friends and family.

That's good to hear. No worries :) Thanks for making such valuable contributions to the community. Will you be watching the West Ham game this weekend?

    Hi @Tori_Scope
:) I will be sure to let you know how we get on and I will also share with you how much of a contribution I make which I imagine will mostly be some very bad jokes as I doubt I will contribute much else :) Thank you for the help with understanding the PhD order, I am extremely proud of them, we have been friends since school, they are my best friend but the friendship is definitely not based on intelligence, they are miles ahead of me in that sense but we just get each other, I'm very lucky :) Thank you for your kind words regarding my contribution to the community, compared to many of the AMAZING people here on the community, I do very little but thank you :) I didn't see the West Ham game but caught up with Match of the Day this morning, it looks like we were much better compared to last week and unlucky to lose but we seem to switch off and that is what led to Arsenal's goal. I saw you joined in with the predictions game, that's great :) Please may I ask if you support a team and if you do which team? I hope you have had a good weekend :) Thank you.

That's the best kind of friendship I think @WestHam06

I see. Well I hope West Ham have some better luck in the future.

Yeah, it's a really fun idea! I managed to miss it somehow the first time around. I can't say I follow football particularly, but I don't mind watching it with other people. I grew up in High Wycombe, so have a soft spot for Wycombe Wanderers. I'm ready to see them get absolutely destroyed in the Championship league :D

    Hi @Tori_Scope
Thank you, West Ham are going to need all the luck they can get this season :) There are some really strong sides in the Premiership this season and we haven't made any signings but I'll always support them no matter how bad they get :) It's great to have you joining in and it is very much a team effort, I hope everyone gets some points over the course of the season :) Ah Wycombe Wanders, great choice, I also follow them closely. Gareth Ainsworth has done a terrific job there and I am really hoping they manage to avoid relegation but it's been a tricky start and I imagine there may be a few more results like the one at the weekend :(  I also really like Ainsworth as he is in a band, random but cool  Thank you.

It's great that you support them no matter what @WestHam06 ! Good luck to them.

Yes, hopefully we'll all get at least a few points. I'm not feeling too confident about my rather random guesses though :D

I like Gareth Ainsworth too. I used to play Fifa with my brother, and we'd always make sure he was in midfield. I think you're right, there'll be lots of difficult games up ahead. They're a bit out of their depth. I didn't know he was in a band! Very random.

    Hi @Tori_Scope
Good old FIFA, can't beat it, I still play now occasionally. I do remember Ainsworth on the game a few seasons ago and he definitely had to be in midfield. :) I believe he is the singer in the band but I'll have to check as I think there was joke about him missing band practice when Wycombe beat Oxford in the Play-Off final :) I also love Adebayo Akinfenwa, he is just makes me smile as you can tell he loves life and playing football. I know he is out injured at the moment but hopefully he will be back training soon, I think that will give Wycombe a lift, but I agree they are a little out of their depth currently :( Though, I wouldn't write them off until the very end, they have great spirit :) Good luck to them as well :)
I'm just going to update the table for the predictions, hopefully we all did well :) Thank you

    Hi @WestHam06.

I haven't played in ages because I don't have a console, but I do miss it. I'll have to look the band up!

Yeah me too :D And he's HUGE. An absolute unit.

    Ooh exciting!

Oh that's a shame @Tori_Scope, maybe you could ask Father Christmas for one  I will see if I can find the band name as well. In complete agreement, he is an absolute legend :) Thank you.

    Hi @Tori_Scope
I see Wycombe are playing Swansea at the weekend and it is on TV, please may I ask, will you will be watching? I have also found Gareth Ainsworth's band name, they are called 'The Cold Blooded Hearts'. I have not listened to any songs though :) Thank you.

I don't have Sky Sports, but I'll keep an eye on the score @WestHam06. Thank you for letting me know!

Ooh, I'll try and find them and give them a listen this afternoon :D Thanks!

    Hi @Tori_Scope
Wycombe were unlucky at the weekend, they have heart, passion and desire, they just lack that little bit of extra quality. I really hope they can stay up this season and it's early days so they may be able to turn it around. Thank you.

    Hi Everyone.

My views on this are rather mixed.

Yes we can go out and socialise but in a way that is still very restrictive.  We can go to a cafe for a coffee and a snack with a friend but we need to stay socially distanced and give track and trace details.  It takes the fun out of the event.  We can go shopping but have to wear a mask where quite often the younger shoppers never bother.  I know many people are exempt, as am I, but I wear one as long as it isn't causing me problems.  We have resumed church services, again wearing a mask and socially distanced, no singing of hymns and the communion is odd as only the wafer can be offered.  I am sure we have lost some family groups at church due to the fear of mixing.  My family is already six in number including the 3 children so very difficult to have anyone over unless one or more of us are out.

The group I go to, Medway Men in Sheds, is restricted to six where there used to be about twenty.  For a group designed to combat social isolation this is difficult to manage when men need to have a place they can go and chat about their worries with other men in the same position.  The centre has a cafe which closed during lockdown and now may not reopen.

@roberttaylor570 I hear you, the restrictions have changed how things used to feel.  It's taking some adjusting to, to say the least.  It's good to hear that most of our social outings are reinstated though.

I saw this i news article today about seeking out positive news during the pandemic and limiting the amount of negativity we absorb from social media.  I think this is especially important as the coronavirus fall out continues.  Is anyone else trying to limit how much regular news they watch or listen to?

I do this definitely. I don’t use social media at all, I have never done. Also, I don’t watch or read the news as I feel it is mostly full of opinions. Even the BBC is guilty - I miss the days when the BBC used to be the go-to outlet for getting the news in a neutral way instead of hearing opinion.

These days I assume if something is important enough I will hear about it from somebody - indeed these days I get all my news from other people.

Though, I think the reason the news is full of negativity is that it gets more papers sold/gets more views than warm fuzzy stories, sadly!

@Cher_Scope I still avidly listen to news on the BBC both local and national.  I follow facebook news feeds and also on Twitter.  I have learnt to distinguish the false news from the real news and if in any doubt I check trusted agencies before making comment or sharing.  If a UK story I will check Press Associan PA Media or BBC before I accept it as true.

@66Mustang Your dream may come true sooner than you imagined.  Today Boris Johnson has outlined his plans for the Corporation which includes handing control to a new DG who has already stated he wants many changes.  One change is that any Journalist or broadcaster/presenter who either makes statements or  uses social media to make "political" comment will be sacked.  So much for free speech and freedom of the Press

Yeah another unlucky game @WestHam06 :( I hope they can improve too.

Yes, I did find a few recordings on YouTube! They're better than I expected actually. Good old fashioned rock. This one is pretty catchy.

    Hi @Tori_Scope
Thank you for sharing 'The Wanderer' with me, I agree it is definitely a  catchy tune and I think I will search more of their songs :) Please may I ask what types of music do you like to listen too? Thank you
