Hi everyone, just wondering if anyone could help me?
I'm 24 years old and was born with mild Cerebral Palsy I've been suffering with depression and anxiety issues for a long time but I'm really trying to change my life!, I recently started blogging about living with Cerebral Palsy and its made me a lot more determined about what I want to do with my life, I'd love to be a motivational speaker or something alone them lines but the problem is I don't know were to start, I've got a lot to say but zero confidence and I really struggle talking to people I don't know. I hope that soomeone out there can give me some advice and what steps to take towards my chosen career! Thank you for any advice :)
Michelle.

First of all I think it's good and worthwhile what you would like to do. You could try one of two things if you want to build up your confidence you could contact some charities for Cerebral Palsy that have communities on-line and offline and propose what you would like to do to help, charities like Scope and The Cedar Foundation they may be able to help to get you started or advise your next move.

Secondly, you could also start a Blog on-line or write a motivational article from your own experiences and send it to the editorial team of one of the disability magazines or the glossy ones. Human interest stories are usually welcome edition especially interesting first hand true accounts of an experience that inspires people.

    Best of Luck

Thank you very much for the advice & tips GerryMac75, it means a lot! I do write a blog already which is going down really well but I will definitely try your other tips.

    Hi Chelle
I have read your blog it is really good. I wish I had the same courage as you, to blog about my experiences. You are probably helping more people than you know! Keep it up!

    Hi ChelleM,
I understand that it is difficult to find employment, especially when you have little confidence, this is something I can definitely relate to. Have you thought about volunteering for a charity that interests you? Sometimes it can be a good way of meeting new people and improving self-esteem.
