Google special needs catalogues. I bought most of my equipment from The Magic Planet ((TFH).
However, check out your local pound shops, I buy loads in there, especially tactile resources. My latest is a microfibre cleaning mitt. I use it like a hand puppet and it glows in my UV light. -
You can also search on ebay for items for special needs, can sometimes get things a bit cheaper

too great websites to purchase from:
http://www.sensorytoywarehouse.com/
and
www.fledglings.org who not only have toys but loads of other useful items, they have a brochure online.
aslo ditto to ebay: tip: enter special needs, or autism or, autistic when searching for items
My son is also 16 and has severe and profound learning disabilities, so I understand the problem!
he loves anything with lights and music -
hi spacekraft.co.uk is another good one
