Pip reconsideration

It is 6 weeks since I asked for a mandatory reconsideration for my son's pip (I am his appointee) is it usual to have to wait so long for any response. My son is 21 and suffers from aspergers syndrome. When I received the letter back after face to face interview stating he was no longer entitled to money for either mobility or care, I was totally gobsmacked. The report said things that we hadn't even discussed, I was appalled. Not only has the whole situation caused Aidan to retreat even further into himself, I myself am suffering with great stress too.

I am in exactly the same situation. I have asked for a mandatory reconsideration. Apparently it can take at least 6 weeks and they still turn a lot of people down but if you go to appeal you have over 50% chance of winning. Good luck.

Thanks for your responses , it is so unfair on people on the autistic spectrum, and believe me I will be appealing, good luck Larkin and mum of 3 boys when you go through the transition x
