My sons inherritance off his father

Hello my childrens father passed away 2 years ago.he left his pension to my son.land rover made us fill in a form stating that my son has aspergers and that i have to help him which any mother does with there children he is 22 now.rover put the money into trust.my son wanted to buy a house like his dad wished for himself me and his sister but has been refused on the grounds of his mental state.they have not done any mefical checks on my child.he is very capable and intelligent and can make desicions for himself just struggles socialy.i was going to get him a solicitor but it maybe very expensive.my son feels discriminated about this whole outcome of his late dads inherritence that he left for my son.what can he do.can he actually put in for probate as rover told me i cant.thankyou

Hi @trudy, I don't really know anything about this but it doesn't sound right that he should be prevented from accessing the inheritance, particularly if they haven't done any checks. @DebbieVoakes can you offer any advice? It may also be worth popping in to your local Citizen's Advice Bureaux.

Thanyou i have been banging my head up the wall about this for two years now.my local citizen advice bureau is in middle of town.all local ones are shut down now.my son and i need to go somewher for advice.my son does not work and claims pip would he be entitled to free legal aid.thankyou for answering me.iam just so worried about his future.

You can check whether he's entitled to legal aid on the official gov website, I'll also tag in @BenefitsTrainingCo, who may know something about this.
