Hi my 19 month Grandson recently had a brain scan to confirm he has Cerebral Palsy, however it was clear and now having genetic testing done,
He can't walk or talk but has started to move around on his back plus starting to sit up, I just wondered if anyone else has been through this and did the genetic tests confirm it was CP,,,,,,,,,,we have to wait for up to two months for the results which is a long time to wait
Thanks.

I wasn't aware of any genetic tests for cp, as the condition is not genetic at all. It's caused by damage to the brain either during pregnancy, during birth or shortly after. Everyone I know has had a brain scan to diagnose theirs and see the extent of the small age and where in the brain it is. But I've never heard of generic testing since cerebral palsy is not genetic x

Hi JadeB we were told that it may show up on the genetic testing, however I feel they may be looking for something else to make a diagnoses, we will just have to wait and see what the results show,
My Grandsons symptoms are that of CP so it's just a waiting game for us now
Kind regards and thank you for replying
