Chadderton Park Sports Club in Oldham has a range of sports on offer, including rounders, netball and football. Today the club's secretary, Craig Simpson, tells us all about their cerebral palsy football group.

Our video shows our group of volunteer coaches at Chadderton Park Sports Club coaching approximately 50 children with cerebral palsy.

We like to promote a fun environment, making sure everyone is included and active. Hopefully this video will inspire other families to bring their own children along to our group.
We also hope other clubs throughout the country will set up similar sessions so that we can expand our small network of similar clubs and increase the opportunity for the clubs to play matches against each other.
Later this month we pick up the Queens Award for Voluntary services to the community, and on the 8th Sept we are attending the National Diversity Awards at Liverpool Anglican Cathedral - as we have been shortlisted in the Community Award for Disability.

More information about the cerebral palsy football club can be found on the club's website.

hooray for accessible sport! great work Chadderton Park Sports Club.
I was particularly touched by this story about a Dad in Stoke-on-Trent who set up a football especially for his son -
Hi,I think it is a brilliant idea to get engage disable children into sport. They have an opportunities to socialise .More action like this in needed all over the World

HI CaderMac,
The boy from Stoke still plays at Chadderton Park, he began training with us and then his dad decided to set up a similar group in his home town of Stoke,
We train alternate weeks so he can play at both events. -

Is the football training accessable for children who don't use a walking frame and who have a 'buggy' due to limited movement?
