my question is about self employed and housing benefit. my daughter is self employed and it looks like she is only entitled to less than £3 housing benefit, if she earnt the same but was employed she would get alot more. is this the case or is it just harder to calculate?

Hi sandra1968,
Housing Benefit is a means-tested benefit so your daughter's entitlement is worked out after taking her income into account. It doesn't matter whether someone is employed or self-employed, there is no difference at all as to how much Housing Benefit she would get.
