Hi @toni95, and welcome! You might find more information on the diagnosis process and the condition by looking through our cerebral palsy discussions, and Scope's advice. NHS Choices also have information on the diagnostic process.
You might also like to chat to @maxandmolly and @Di1964, who both have children with CP. Hope this helps! -
Hi there my son had tests for cerebral palsy and it only took a couple of weeks for the tests to come back.
-
How was the outcome and what did they do to find out x
-
He had blood taken and a scan done, it wasn’t cerebral palsy he has been diagnosed with a rare condition called familiar periodic cerebellum ataxia type2.

I never heard what hes got xx hope hes ok is it the same sign as cerebral pasy I take it xxx

Some of the signs are he wasn’t sitting up crawling rolling over when he was a baby. This condition affects all his gross motor skills so he has low muscle tone in his legs, delayed speech and talking. A eye condition and the ataxia affects his balance and also food is a problem and not keeping weight on. But putting all that aside he is a cheeky happy little boy and makes me laugh everyday x
