Visual inattention and CP

I recently had a driving assessment for adapted controls and the assessor picked up on a right visual inattention and told me I wasn't safe to drive. I'm a bit shocked at this as I don't think I have any of the symptoms of an inattention in my day to day life.
Is there any link between CP and an inattention? I can't help thinking if I've had it all my life it should have been noticed by my therapists or teachers as a child. I'm also a bit worried that I might have developed it as an adult and might not be aware I have it.
Has anyone else been diagnosed at a driving assessment with an inattention or have an inattention?

Hi @the_velvet_girl
I used to drive, but no longer do because of more sight loss. When I drove I could have been classed as partially sighted because I had no vision in my left eye at the time. So I took my driving test about five times as they were very finicky about my observation.
I do not know about CP or Cerebral Palsy but if it effects not turning your head enough or you have partial sight in one eye then examiners could be strict on checking your observation in the test. -

Good Morning & Welcome!!!!
I had my Stroke in 1998 this effected my leftside & vision.

Hi @the_velvet_girl
I don't know but having a google there seems to be a lot of posts about links between CP and ADHD. Is it worth you speaking to your GP?Scope

I have an appointment with my GP in a few weeks and I'm going to ask for a Stroke Clinic referral as I've done a bit of research and it seems a visual inattention is often related to a stroke.

Hi Velvet Girl, visual inattention on one side can be related to having CP, particularly if you have hemiplegia. It can go unnoticed!

My GP seemed to think I've probably always had an inattention & it's just never been picked up. I was refused a Neurology or Stroke clinic referral.
