i am visually impaired with 60% total loss I carry a white cane with me, it’s one with a point so I can cross the road. Yet when I’m my town centre or walking past my local primary school I get lots of funny looks or cut up or worse just stand in my way. I get really paranoid and made to feel like I can’t go out due to my disability and don’t know what to do except yell I’m particularly sighted with a stick. Please can some one please help me cope

Hi @janice1976 and a very warm welcome to the community! Thank you for sharing your story, we really appreciate it!
It must be difficult when you are having to adjust to this. I am partially sighted myself and have only been using a long cane for under a year. I can relate to people giving funny looks. I guess it can be difficult for them to understand as it is something new and they were unaware of your level of sight. I know that a long cane can ensure your safety and allow you to get out and about. It is very important that you are safe. Please feel free to message me if you want to talk more about this and I hope other members of the community can offer support and guidance on this!Scope -
