Ive been my daughters carer for over 10 years Shes 36.At the last ESA ASSESSMENT they asked if I was an appointee .First Id heard of it I spoke to someone at GPs office they said to apply for Power of Attorney .I do everything for her .Feel as though they didnt listen to me My daughter has always given permission to answer for her both medically and financiallyShe has a building society account pass book Si everything taken out is doc umented.She dies not drive She does not have a passport.Feel as a carer not trusted

Thanks for sharing this, @sylvfb- it must have been really frustrating to feel that you weren't being listened to. The gov.uk page has some good information about Power of Attorney and the process which may be worth a read- have a look, and do come back to us if we can be of further assistance.

Hi

You can set up as an appointee to Manage someone benefits without having go down the route of power of attorney. If become your child appointee ask at your local job centre of the forum, send it off. Someone from the DWP visting term will come see make everything is as you said it is, just a safegrading process.
