Hi,
Unfortunately debt management are able to recover some things from arrears payments of benefits, there is not much to be done about it.
Sorry not to be the bearer of better news.

its pip they cant do that especially with the financial harship im in i owe bills and rent i said i would be happy to set up a payment plan thats what usually happens but because im getting this backdated payment that im owed they want to take more than half of it

As your PIP is classed as income for this type of thing, they can take it. You need to speak to them to tell them the financial hardship you're in at the moment and offer to pay it weekly or monthly through a payment plan.I would appreciate it if members wouldn't tag me please. I have all notifcations turned off and wouldn't want a member thinking i'm being rude by not replying. If i see a question that i know the answer to i will try my best to help.
