Hi,To claim DLA for a child you need to show they need more care, attention or supervision than a child of the same age who isn't disabled. Evidence will be needed to support a claim too. https://www.citizensadvice.org.uk/benefits/sick-or-disabled-people-and-carers/disability-living-allowance/
I would appreciate it if members wouldn't tag me please. I have all notifcations turned off and wouldn't want a member thinking i'm being rude by not replying. If i see a question that i know the answer to i will try my best to help. -
If the only extra care she needs is with reading and writing, it’s unlikely she’ll be awarded.
There are parents with children who have epilepsy, cerebral palsy, autism etc who can’t get dla without a fight.
You’d probably need proof she has lots of help in school and lots of doctors reports before they’d consider it.
