Hi @shelby3
There are many different ways children can communicate their wants and needs. It is a case of trial and error and finding what is suitable for your daughter, for instance using objects, photos, symbols or electronic communication.
Can I ask when your daughter was diagnosed, as if it was in the past 12 months you could access the Scope Navigate service.
Navigate provides a six week programme of online and telephone support to parents who have a child going through diagnosis, or who have a child who has recently been diagnosed with a disability. The aim is to provide parents with emotional and practical support that will help them build resilience as they start their journey as a parent of a child with a disability or impairment.
If you feel the service is for you the link below will guide you to the online referral form:
http://scope.org.uk/navigate
Also our phone lines are open from 9am - 8pm Monday - Saturday and 9am - 12pm on a Saturday.
You may also like to visit the National autistic Society web page which may be of help.
https://www.autism.org.uk/
Or the website for I CAN which focuses on communication.

Hope this helps, and we look forward to hearing from you if you feel our Navigate service will be of a benefit to you.
