My wife is attending a court appeal for PIP on Monday 1st July and we are both very anxious and stressed out. We have waited 15months for this.We had a court appeal 8weeks ago where the judge postponed the hearing because he said it would be better if she had an interpret
or my wife of 21 yrs speaks English but not deep English. I received a letter from the court signed by the judge that advised us to get her medical records 2017/2019 and extra letters from doctors and specialists. I provided them with my wife's medical records and more specialists letters. My wife suffers with epilepsy her epilepsy has caused her to break her leg and destroyed her ligaments. She broke her ankle when she fell over after having a small fit where she freezes and doesn't know where she is or who she is. Her leg gives way and she always does some other damage she has burned herself over two years ago in the kitchen she dropped things leaves pans on the gas and forgets them she told me she feels very unsafe . I took control of the kitchen and do all the cooking. I wash her all over because she feels unsafe in the bathroom. She cannot go up or down the stairs so social services fitted a stair lift and they changed the bathroom into a wetroom. She cannot go out alone, she is to frightened of getting lost. She has been having physio therapy because of her leg. She is also suffering with severe back problem she has had spinal injections but they didn't work. She is waiting to see that spine surgeon to see what can be done. She has now been found to have microscopic blood in her urine this has been going on for nearly two years and her doctor is sending her for blood tests and scans to try and find out why blood in her urine. There are more problems but I feel you have had a lot of information. Just to think the assessor said she looked very well. This has been the most awful time of her and my life with Anxiety and depression. The stress is unbearable she once tried to commit suicide because of her epilepsy I do every thing I can to relieve her stress. Probably now is to late to have your advice. Regards Petermac.

I am sorry to read of your struggles. Things must be very hard for you and your wife. I found the tribunal panel very pleasant and kind not at all like DWP. All the very best.

The tribunal will be different. Good luck. Keep us updated.

Tribunal was very hard for me, maybe even harder then the assessments themselves (but that's probably down to there being more people there) but I do think it was more friendlier than PIP assessments.
Tribunal will correct the DWP and ATOS' wrong doing and award you with the correct benefits your entitled to. Have faith in that, no matter how difficult it may be. -
We won the appeal. Thanks for your thoughts
