Hi. I recently had my wages docked for the time I took to attend a pre operative assessment for my hip replacement. I was told that teaching staff can take paid time for appointments but that school support staff will get their money docked. As my arthritis is classed as a disability I thought I should get paid.

Hi
Just because it is a disability it doesn't mean you have to be paid it is employers disctetion if they pay they only have to allow the time off to attend .

Hi @Julesp. Contact the Equality Advisory Support Service (EASS) on 0808 800 0082. They offer excellent guidance and ACAS may only refer you to them in any event.
