@debbiedo49 Ah, but when and how old were you when you got it - they had been available between 1979 - 2010..I'm gues ing 49 is either your YoB or your age (trying to be tactful )I was 17 (1974) when I bought my first stereo tape deck on HP from Currys. It didn't have speakers and couldn't afford an amplifier and sperate speakers and had to listen to it with massive headphones - it gave me vertigo and made me physically sick. ?

My dad's old rent book (the year before I was born). The rent was 31 shillings and 8 [old] pence or £1:11s:8d, including rates and water charges, for a 3 bedroom house, approximately equivalent to £1.58. With inflation that would be just over £39 in today's money.Resident joker - not to be taken too seriously ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
