Hello everyone,
My name is Joanne and I work for Scope based in Leeds.
I am looking forward to getting to know the Community.
I live close to the glorious Yorkshire Dales, and I love making the most of the beautiful area I live in.
I am also addicted to crime fiction and read obsessively.
I have two grown-up daughters, one of whom is getting married this year, so I am extremely excited about being the mother of the bride!
I am still getting to know my way around the Community and hopefully will get to know some of you over time.

Hello @Opus Pleased to meet you welcome.
Thank you for joining.
A community champion is a volunteer role on the forum. We answer any posts. Welcome and introductions to new members.
Any unanswered posts we can help with and advise. Or any posts that the community champion can give any additional information, be supportive offer anything else in the related post.
Such as organisations, associations, societies related to any disability or illness or conditions. That member may have.
We police the forum . According to house and community house rules. When you signed up. Any of those breaches we have to flag those up to SCOPE team.
Also posts that we can refer to SCOPE team or those causing insensitivity or hurt or harm with comments.
I sometimes see posts that I think the member could be seeking help and experiencing distress.
One being this neglect, mental health issues such as suicidal thoughts, those with health histories as such like mine addiction.
Others like abuse from family members or others causing the problems.
I do refer to the SCOPE Team. To see how we as a community can do more by giving them the member concerned some support.
I have mental health issues have a lot of knowledge, experience on that . With an addiction history as well.
I am clean from that so have that knowledge as well.
Also have nutritional and lots of foodie knowledge expertise.
My recipes. Not a qualified Nutritionist but have a lot of qualifications and experience.
Use that to help members on many posts.
Qualities I think are important need to be sensitive, caring, kind and honest open approach be friendly.
You can spend as long you want on the forum. As long you do a few hours. I am always on here most days.
You will see a number of us on the forum some identify themselves. I do.
All helps to be amicable and friendly.
Please if you are interested you can contact SCOPE.
community@scope.org.uk.
Hope that helps you.
Pleasure to meet you.
Take care.
