I’ve had really good advice from this site in the past so here I go again. He can walk now unaided, a brave determined lad, but wants to get in his pram after walking so far. This is the issue, he’s getting too big for his pram. Where do we go from here? We want to go for days out, after this lockdown is over, and he also wants to walk to school. Are there bigger ‘prams’. He won’t manage a full day out or walking to school without some sort of chair to help him.

Hi I understand your dilemma, maybe you could get him a wheelchair I know as a wheelchair user this may be daunting reality.
They do make some really funky children's designs with character wheels

Hi @Christina114,
How are you? Welcome back and please do ask any questions you have at any time, there will be someone on the forum who will be able to help. Fantastic news that he is now walking unaided, you must be really proud! It is tiring though so I would think that a wheelchair is the next option to enable him to get a balance. Does your family have contact with an Occupational Therapist or other professional who may be able to help with this? @Richard_Scope may be able to give some more detailed advice for you. It can be quite daunting but as @janer1967 they can do some really funky designs for children. I'm sorry I can't be of anymore help. Thank you.

Hello @Christina114, it's great to talk with you.
I think that looking to get your son a wheelchair is a good idea. The children's wheelchairs now are great and are far better than a buggy, far better than when I was a kid.
Here is an example it's called the ZIPPIE
I would make contact with your G.P. or Occupational Therapist and get a referral to your local NHS wheelchair service

Hello all, just an update. Thank you for recommending NHS WHEELCHAIR SERVICES, they delivered a large buggy type chair yesterday, a McLaren. He seems to have taken to it. He thought it looked a bit high up, the seat, but then felt comfortable in it. Fingers crossed he will like it. So we can see how it goes. Many thanks again.

Thanks Richard. Of course this chair doesn’t give him any independence, and come the day he may want to mobilise himself. But hopefully it’s a good solution for the moment.
