Hello all,so I know that my mother who is my carer is entitled to a carers premium for being my carer, she cant get carers allowance because she is on pension credit ,my question is would applying for this premium have any negative affect on her council reduction, no good getting the carers premium and then giving it back because your council tax shoots up,would be really grateful if anybody has any knowledge of this
Thanks alot
Thanks alot

Hi and welcome I am not too sure on the answer to your query so will tag in another person who may be able to help @Adrian_Scope can you advise here please

Hello @Martin09. It doesn't always impact on council tax support, but as every council run and calculate council tax support differently you'd need to speak directly to your council for confirmation.Community Manager

Hi adrian, thanks for the reply, I did speak to my council who didnt help too much ,however I have done the turn to us benefits calculator a couple of times and it indicates that it dosnt impact the council tax reduction and my mother would be £23 a week better off,not a massive amount but certainly will help
Thanks alot -
That's good news. I'm glad you've managed to get it sorted.Community Manager
