Hello. Can you recommend a good masseuse for a 50-year old lady with cerebral palsy, living in Camden Town? The lovely friend I care for has intense pain at night and needs someone to help her iron out her painful muscles. We'd be so grateful if you know of someone in North West London who does home visits. Thank you if you do!

Welcome to the community @AngelaMinzly! Are they currently receiving any physio therapy?

No, Chloe, not at present. She did have, for many years. Would this be better than massage, do you think?

Hi @AngelaMinzly, a physio might be able to work out the source of her pain. They they can provide stretches and gentle exercises which could help to reduce muscle tightness.
You can get a GP referral.Scope -
Here is a resource from CP Sport who have put together some information on staying mobile during the pandemic.Scope

Hi @AngelaMinzly - & welcome to the community. Just to add to what Chloe has said above, physiotherapists also do massage. Here also are a couple of videos for neck exercises from the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy. Please see: https://www.csp.org.uk/conditions/neck-pain/video-exercises-neck-painHope this helps (I'm a physio but haven't worked as such for a long time).

Thank you very much, Chiarieds. I will pass this on to my friend so that she can try these at home.

You're welcome @AngelaMinzly - I hope your friend gets some relief, & that she might see a physio in the future if needed.

Hi @Foxdie - & welcome to the community. I'm puzzled by your comment,The first thing you notice about a massage is that its primary goal is not to relax you.
Why do you say that? That is exactly what massage is primarily for, & I say this as someone who as a physio student was trained to do this. I've also received many as we practised on each other first.

I learned this kind of massage myself because I could not find a specialist, like you, for a long time.

It's better not to wait by the sea in this situation. The therapeutic massage for CP is the same as for other diseases: stroking, rubbing, kneading, and vibration. In therapeutic massage for adults with CP, all movements are done from the center to the periphery, which helps relax tense muscles. This kind of massage is called a descending massage, and it is excellent for such patients. I learned from different manuals, books, and videos. At the same time, I also learned [removed by moderator - advertising link]. London has a special technique
