A European Union funded research project called 'FastPass' is designing standard self-service immigration control gates for passengers crossing into the UK and EU. The brief is make sure the gates can be used all sections of society. We would appreciate views and advice from SCOPE members about using the new electronic chip passports in such systems.

You can see the FastPass project on its website - just Google "fastpass eu". The idea is to build self-service passport control which works for as many people as possible - especially those with mobility or dexterity challenges.
Have you ever used one of these self-service systems on arrival at Heathrow, Gatwick, UK regional airports or numerous other locations overseas? Did it work for you? We welcome any comments or suggestions, so please post on this forum. Many thanks. Chris at FastPass. -
Its nice thing to know. I think it will be very helpful to people.
