My name is Lucy and I am a step mum to two boys, Lewis (7) and Connor (5). Lewis was born premature and due to this has cerebral palsy. He is an amazing little boy who is doing really well in normal school and is above average in reading which I am really proud of. The main reason for joining the scope community is to get to know mums or children who are like lewis and who I can get advise or ideas of what things may benefit lewis but also his younger brother to understand more about what he is going through. I feel if he got to know more people who are like him he wouldn't feel as left out than other children his age. Any advise or reading other peoples experiences would benefit both me and him.

Hi, I think it's healthy for your son to have contact with both disabled and non disabled children to mke him more integrated. When I was a child, I didn't want to just surrounded by just disabled children. However, I know other disabled children understand the issues related to disability so they don't question things. I think you have to do what you think is right for your son.
