My son's turning 18 - What benefits will he be entitled to?

Hi can anybody tell me the savings cap limit? My son turns 18 next week, and in school till 19 - wot benefits would he be entitled to?

Hi Piglet31,
Are you receiving Child Benefit and Child Tax credits for him at the moment? If he's living at home with you and in full time education, you can continue claiming these benefits until he finishes school. While you're claiming these benefits for him it's unlikely he will be able to apply for anything else in his own right but I'm happy to check this out with you.

Any savings of £16,000 or above will mean no entitlement to means tested benefits.
