Welcome to the Community!
As @steve51 mentioned, there are a lot of great resources and discussions here.
For good background information, check out these resources:
Benefits Overview, Benefits calculator, PIP self test, and Help filling in PIP forms.You can also find excellent discussions about PIP/DLA here in the Community.
We look forward to seeing you in the Community.

Hi@Mauretto1963 To answer your question. Have your National Insurance number handy and then all you need to do is ring DWP on: 03458503322 and tell the advisor who answers that you are currently getting DLA and that your needs have changed. You will then be told to apply for PIP and advised what you need to do.

@Mauretto1963
Have the DWP sent you an invitation to apply for PIP? Or do you just want to change over before the DWP say that you have to?
If the latter, you might want to wait until the DWP contact you to change to PIP. Transfer from DLA to PIP isn't always smooth. Meanwhile, you'll still get your DLA as usual. -
The DWP sent me the letter and i just phoned to claim pip

@Mauretto1963 In that case did they say they would be sending you a claim form? You don't need to do anything till the form arrives. Post again if you need help to fill it in and someone will point you in the right direction...
