Hello gillymac and welcome
You don't say which benefit you had the medical for.
PIP has been made intentionally harder for people to claim and many deserving people , like yourself despair at the process.
Although people struggle with the initial assessment and decision, when and if you have to go to independant tribunal, success is much greater.
Having had an assessment the first thing to do is request a copy of the HCP report from the DWP. This will be usefull if you need to take things further, but also good to add to your records for the future.
Come back with any questions or other help you want, even just to have a rant
